At Roland Robinsons and Fentons each Solicitor is a specialist in their area which ensures that we can deliver advice speedily, efficiently and to the highest professional standards.We are located on the Fylde coast but service clients throughout the UK, we have offices in Blackpool and Lytham St Anne' Lancashire. On the 1st August 2010, the firm became a limited liability partnership.
Our History
Roland Robinson and Co was founded in 1899 by its then sole principal Roland Walkden Robinson who first set up in practice in Birley Street, Blackpool.
He was a prominent local lawyer who was subsequently joined in the practice by his son Leonard Pritchard Robinson. His other son Jack Robinson became MP for Blackpool South and subsequently became Lord Marton Mere and then Governor of Bermuda. Leonard Pritchard Robinson was then joined in Partnership by Thomas Hesmondhalgh and in or about 1951 the practice moved from the Birley Street office to its present offices at 87 Adelaide Street Blackpool.
In 1972 Pritchard Robinson Retired and in 1974 the practice amalgamated with another long established local practice Fentons who moved their Talbot Road offices to the present premises at 87 and 89 Adelaide Street.The partners at Fentons at the time were Arthur Warham and Peter Riley and the amalgamated practiced under the name of Roland Robinson and Fentons as it still does today.Between 1975 and 2008 the practice operated from its office at 85-89 Adelaide Street, Blackpool and in Bispham Village. Following the retirement of Peter Riley the Bispham Office was closed and a review of our business and the delivery of services to our clients in the Blackpool and Fylde coast.
As one door closed another opened on the 1st August 2008 with the opening of the new office of Roland Robinson and Fentons at 4 Church Road, Lytham following the amalgamation with the practice Butterfields and its principal Philip A Crossley-Dawson.Philip remains a consultant at that office along with Mark Batty who was formerly based at Bispham. The Partners at the Blackpool Office are Daniel Newell, Clive Marquis-Carr, Robert Castle and Robert Evans.
