Legal Fees

We offer a fixed fee to obtain the Grant of Probate. Our range of fixed fees is £420.00 to £1,200.00 including VAT.

The level of the fixed fee will depend on the circumstances of the case. These factors can include whether Inheritance Tax is payable and whether IHT allowances/reliefs are applicable.

Disbursements

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.

The likely Disbursements are: –

  1. Probate Court Fee of £155.00 plus £0.50 per Official Grant of Probate.
  2. Anti Money Laundering Check £4.80 (per executor)

As part of our fixed fee we will: –

  1. Provide you with a dedicated and experienced probate solicitor to work on your matter
  2. Accurately identify the type of Probate application you will require
  3. Complete the Probate Application and the relevant HMRC forms
  4. Draft a legal Oath for you to swear
  5. Make the application to the Probate Court on your behalf
  6. Obtain the Probate and securely send two copies to you

How long will this take?

On average, once we have all the information from you, obtaining the Grant of Probate takes up to 16 weeks.
